“I will use
the knowledge of what I have learned in this
class for the rest of my life. I feel that I
understand myself better, and I can take the
skills that I have learned like kill the
critic and free write to help me write
better essays and papers. I feel that I can
now organize my thoughts better, which helps
me put them on paper more effectively.
The success
that I have obtained from taking this course
would not have been possible without you and
your help. Thank you for making a difficult
subject more manageable for me. When I had
trouble writing some of the papers for this
class, I would think of your advice, which
would help me immensely. The best advice you
gave was to leave myself enough time for
writing so I would not feel like I had a gun
to my head.
Thank you
again for your all of your help and the hard
work and effort you put into this class. You
motivated me to do my best.” |

“Professor Gray is always prepared to
provide an interactive lecture where we can
all get involved with the text; she chooses
readings that are interesting, challenging,
and stimulating enough for us to come back
with thoughtful questions, ideas, and
essays. She is very interesting and has a
lot of insight into the texts we read; she
also gives students time to evaluate our own
thoughts by allowing group work
occasionally.” |

"After reading "The Angel in the House," I
began to understand the problems she [my
wife] was having. It is very hard for her to
put aside her responsibilities as a mother
and care giver to go to school, even if I
assured her that I would help. It has
nothing to do with helping her around the
house. It is her instinct to be helpful, to
clean, to nurture our children, and to take
care of our home. The fear of not being
successful at both endeavors scared her....I
am truly amazed at this. Here I am at my age
and I just now realize the untold pressures
that a woman must overcome to find herself
in this world. I asked my wife to read this
story, to see if she felt that she was the
angel in our home. It has been the topic of
many conversations and for this, I thank
you." |
